Super simple method to oven roast these yummy low fat, low GI nuts

  1. Start with fresh chestnuts and use a small knife to cut an “X” into the rounded side of each. This prevents the chestnut from bursting in the oven as the the steam is able to escape.
  2. Place the scored chestnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for 20 minutes at 180 degrees C . You’ll know the chestnuts are cooked when the shells crack open and the chestnut has turned a golden brown color.
  3. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes
  4. Peel while they are still warm and devour!
